COIL is recognised as a world leader in precision low vision products. As part of the Carclo
group of companies we have over sixty five years experience serving the opthalmic and
industrial optics markets. Throughout this period COIL has researched, developed and
manufactured low vision aid magnifiers and created one of the most comprehensive product
ranges available.

At COIL we believe that good design is founded on total understanding of function.

COIL are situated on the Slough Trading Estate, one of the largest and most vibrant industrial
sites within Europe. The headquarters are very conveniently located within 15 minutes of
London's Heathrow Airport, the M4 and M25 motorways and the West Coast Rail link. Even
closer is the historic town of Windsor whose castle is home to Britain's Royal Family.

Combined Optical Industries Ltd. was founded in 1936 by Arthur Kingston and was regarded
as the leader in plastic optics. The company pioneered techniques in the precision moulding
of plastic optics using injection and compression moulding. As more and more low-vision
products were introduced, the brand name 'COIL' started to become recognised throughout
the world

In early 2000 COIL moved to a purpose built facility only a short distance from their original
factory. The new modern, hi-tech offices provide a superior working environment that allows
COIL to further expand their influence on the Low vision market.

As we enter the twenty-first century, the working ethos that has seen COIL. become one of
the most successful innovators and manufacturers of optical products in the world, remains
